Comrade Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI(C), issued the following statement on 22-04-23:
Exclusion of the great scientist Darwin’s historic discovery of evolution from the school textbooks by the BJP-led central government is not only an attack on science and scientific thinking but also a sinister fascist design to push the younger generations of the country to the mystic alley of blind faith and illogical bent of mind. It should be our grave concern that the BJP-government’s attempt to completely dismantle our education system disregarding the dreams of the pioneers of Indian renaissance and the fighters of freedom struggle is a step to all-out fascization of the thinking process and culture of the countrymen.
We appeal to the secular and democratic minded education loving people of the whole country to raise their voice to foil this sinister move which will destroy the very process of building man with rationality through education.
