Comrade Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI(C), issued the following statement on 27-04-2015:-
As all of us have come to know, the neighboring state Nepal is ravaged by an unprecedented devastating earthquake. More than three thousand people are reported to have lost life while many more are apprehended to be buried under the debris. Thousands more are marooned and unknown number of people are yet to be rescued. Nepal people never faced such a big natural calamity. The tremors have also been felt in the entire North and East India particularly in the provinces of Bihar, U.P. and Bengal and that have caused substantial damage to life and property. Already 60 deaths are reported. At this hour of grave crisis, it is incumbent on all sensitive people to extend a helping hand to the earthquake-affected people. Responding to the need of the hour, the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) urges upon the people of the country to come forward and contribute generously to the relief fund in cash/cheque and medicine.
