Comrade Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI (Communist), issued the following statement on 6 September 2021:
Lakhs of peasants are fighting with indomitable spirit in the borders of Delhi to repeal the three anti-peasant, pro-corporate Black Farm Laws and Electricity (Amendment ) Bill-2021 and to legalize Minimum Support Price for all agricultural produce. In this heroic struggle, six hundred lives have already been sacrificed. Most undemocratic fascistic adamant attitude of the BJP-led central government again proves how much it is committed to serve the monopolists and multinationals at the cost of the peasants. Our Party has always been with these fighting peasants and trying our best to strengthen the movement all over the country.
We hail this heroic struggle. It has created a glorious history. We think it is the bounden duty of all the toiling people to stand by this heroic struggle to foil the heinous fascistic design of the BJP led central government. Because, this movement not only represents the interest of the peasants, it also reflects the aspiration of workers, students, youths and other sections of toiling people, who are also ruthlessly oppressed and crushed by exploiting ruling bourgeois class and its subservient ruling party. The ‘BHARAT BANDH’ call on 27 September by Sanjukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) is a timely step to advance the movement further. We whole heatedly support this call.
We appeal to all the toiling and the democratic minded people of our country to help and support the BANDH to make it a grand success.
